Krishna Janam Bhumi - Dwarkadhish Temple - Vishram Ghat - Mathura Meuseum - Iskcon Temple

Early morning pick up from hotel & proceed to Mathura by Car.

In the early morning drive to Mathura. Its 145 km 2-3 Hours drive from Delhi. Mathura is the birthplace of Krishna at the centre of Braj or Brij-bhoomi, called Shri Krishna Janma-Bhoomi. It is located around 50 km from Agra and 145 Km from Delhi.

Krishna Janam Bhumi

According to historian this the birth place of lord Krishna. This is most visited temple in Mathura. As per legend, the prison cell, popularly known as 'Garbha Griha', in the temple premise is the exact place where lord Krishna was bornThis temple is not only important temple of Mathura but also of India, built in 1814.

Dwarkadheesh Temple

Dwarkadheesh Temple is located near the eastern banks of river Yamuna. The temple was constructed in 1814 and is located at a central place in the city of Mathura.Dwarkadeesh Temple was constructed by Seth Gokul Das Parikh, who was the treasurer of the Gwalior Estate. The main shrine embraces the images of Lord Krishna and his beloved Radha. The structure of the temple has the glimpse of local art and architecture. The interiors boast the excellent work of art, brilliant carvings and exquisite paintings.

Vishram Ghat

Vishram Ghatis, a bath and worship place, on the banks of river Yamuna at Mathura and is just near well known Dwarakadhish Temple. It is the main ghat of 25 other ghats in Mathura.. The traditional parikramma starts and ends at Vishram Ghat. Lord Krishna is said to have rested at this place after killing Kansa. We can do boat ride also there.

Mathura Meuseum

The museum was founded by then Cllector of the Mathura District Sir F. S. Growse in 1874. Initially it was known as Curzon Museum of Archaeology, then Archaeology Museum, Mathura, and finally changed to the Government Museum, Mathura. The Government Museum at Mathura is one of the best in the country. With an excellent collection of sculptures belonging to the Mathura School of Art, the museum also houses several ancient coins, paintings and transcripts of the period between 3rd Century BCE and 12th Century CE, all found from archaeological excavations around the region. Time to visit: from 10;30 AM to 04:30 PM.

Iskcon Temple

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) was founded by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami (Shrila Prabhupada) in the West in 1966. ISKCON belongs to Gaudiya (refers to Bengal) Vaishnavism, a devotional tradition based on the teachings of Bhagavad-Gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam. It is one of the main temples ISKCON in India and Internationally. Spiritual seekers and particularly devotees of Krishna from all over the world are seen here year-round, adding new colour and life to this ancient holy city.
